Owner of Marlena Design Group & Interior Designer

“Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life” is a bit of advice that perfectly articulates Marlena’s enthusiasm for her profession. With over 15 years of success, Marlena has established a glowing reputation and a rapidly growing client base.

A Colorado native, and a graduate of the Art Institute of Colorado with a BA in Interior Design, Marlena began her career at an architectural lighting firm, where she quickly realized her particular mastery of lighting design. From there she moved into luxury showrooms and honed her eye for details and quality materials.

She currently focuses on custom new-build projects. She is very hands-on from start to finish. Marlena manages all aspects of the project, from the architectural construction drawings, finish selections, product management, and even oversees installation.

She has built a strong partnership with the local ASID chapter and is well respected in the design community.

Alexandra Carson, Interior Designer at Marlena Design Group

Alexandra Acevedo, Interior Designer

Alexandra Acevedo

Interior Designer

Alexandra Acevedo brings a unique perspective to interior design. Her academic background in education, sociology, and psychology from the University of Northern Colorado blend with her creative skills and interior design education from The Interior Design Institute. This multidisciplinary approach allows her to understand the needs and preferences of her clients. She creates spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also psychologically comforting, purposeful, and functional.

Her work in education over the years brings in a special perspective when creating environments for children that will be safe, intriguing, and supportive of their development. Alexandra spent some time assessing classroom and home environments for children. Being able to implement her suggestions has created well thought-out spaces for families.

When Alexandra isn’t playing with design, she enjoys her time taking in the world from her daughter’s eyes. “It’s so fun and inspiring to see the excitement in your child’s eyes over the simplest things. It humbles me and reminds me of what is truly important in life."

Hilary Almas, Interior Designer

Hilary Almas

Interior Designer

Hilary Almas is a new interior designer based in Denver, Colorado. She graduated with a BA in Sociology and Communications from Purdue University and moved to Colorado shortly after. From there she attended Studio Institute Denver where she studied interior design.

Hilary specializes in creating 3D floor plans that fully maximizes the use of a space. Her favorite style is Mid Century modern and is drawn to a lot of trends from the 60’s and 70’s.

Hilary has always wanted a career where she could be creative, but was discouraged to do that at a young age. During Covid, she started doing ceramics, jewelry, mugs & flower pots. “I realized the passion I had for creating was needed in my career in order for me to be happy. I stumbled upon a trade school for interior design online and decided to enroll. I had found the ultimate form of functional art, designing homes!”
