As February draws to a close, we at MDG have been experiencing a bit of a shift. Our eyes are turned to the horizon which gets lighter earlier and earlier every day. The sky turns from velvet purple to grey to deep blue and then—there!—a sweep of pink before the sun peeks out. It’s as if that hint of rose is the first glance of spring on its way to peel our down jackets off our backs, draw the crocus out of the ground, and put a bottle of pinot grigio in the fridge.
What we’re loving about pink this time around is that it’s not the sticky sweet tone that it could be. This is barely-there pigment, a pink that adds drama or even a bit of edge over cuteness. A mod chair in pale blush or ceiling to floor drapes are big doses without being overpowering. A lightly tinted decanter paired with metal utensils on a bar complement each other in a chic and subtle way. A portion of a wall in a rosy hue provides an unexpectedly fresh backdrop in a bedroom.
