As we spend the rest of the year getting merry and jolly and, ok, a little full of sugar cookies and ham, we also will surround ourselves with the people we love. Families cross the country or the street, friends come down from the mountains or head up into them, our pooches curl up next to us on the couch, our kitties behave exactly the same.

And then there are the gifts to be given. We love the look on our little cousin's face when she opens her gift from us. We live for the gasps of delight from our SOs when we totally nail their present. We breathe sighs of relief when we get approving nods from the in-laws.
