Are you ready to book an interior designer, or thinking of booking one? Here are three things to help guide you well you make that decision.
Spooky Chic
Small spaces in the home can open the door for the biggest, boldest design choices. This month, we at MDG are obsessed with this edgy, chic, almost spooky bathroom inspired by Kohler. The skull and crossbones wallpaper is perfect in the brown and bronze colors and it’s less jarring than the perhaps traditional black and white pattern we’re used to seeing. The deep brown wood of the cabinets and the warm light coming from the chandelier take this bathroom from Haunted Mansion to cozy retreat.
We could step into this bathroom and be taken back to a sixth grade Halloween sleepover when we took turns daring each other to lock ourselves in the bathroom. We would light a tea light from Bath and Body Works and stand in front of the mirror, gulping as we looked at our reflections. We turned three times as fast as we could saying Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary and then bolted from the room while our friends shrieked.
Bu this bathroom inspo makes us want to do the opposite of running screaming from the room. We want to fill a claw foot tub up with steamy water and light a cedar-scented candle or two. We want to sip spicy apple cider while we sink into the warmth and read a scary book while we watch a fall thunderstorm roll in out of the corner of our eyes. We’ll stay hidden away until the water cools, our fingers wrinkle or the kids start calling and then dry off for a family watch party of American Horror Story.
